Mark Tisdall asks clients simple questions - What works? What doesn’t?
“There’s usually a bit of stress happening by the time people decide to come and see a therapist or a counsellor. So it helps to know what to expect. I want to hear both what works in your life and what’s not working out.” says Mark Tisdall.
Therapy focus is on building client strengths I encourage clients to use their personal strengths and to apply these to challenges they face. So if you want to have a think about what you are good at and what works in your life before we meet to talk, it will speed up our work on how to deal with what’s challenging. Family therapy is about context not what’s wrong with you as a person I use a Family Systems approach to help you understand some of the patterns of both your life and your family. We will work together to interrupt some of the ways you behave, think, and interact. In my experience, if one part of a system acts or thinks differently, then something new happens. I value and respect each person's life experience and encourage and support honest talking. The therapy relationship is based on agreement All clients sign a Terms & Conditions Agreement either before we meet or at the first therapy session. This is an agreement about safety, confidentiality and payments. Clients meet me in person in a comfortable, first floor modern office in Terrace End. Palmerston North. |
